Les, you will know, fountain of all knowledge, was the Royal Sussex lanyard the same as the REME one ie red yellow and blue plaited? I feel it was but am not sure

Hi Bob ! The Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers never officially had a lanyard. They normally wore that, of their parent unit. This is probabably where the mixup may have come from. Something similar was worn postwar by RAEME & RCEME, but it was plaited (normal for a Corps) We wore ours from 1961 to 1966 only,  .........before it was replaced by the Royal Military Order of Wilhelm 1st of Nassau (4th Class, Unit Citation)   click to enlarge Best regards Les |
